Dear Ones,
“Generosity is the most natural outward expression of an inner attitude of compassion and loving-kindness .”
The Dalai Lama XIV
We are entering the final week of our formal pledge drive. I say “formal” because, technically, we are always accepting pledges and donations towards our operating budget. However, we make a big push to meet our budget goals within this short window of time because doing so allows us to truly prepare for the coming congregational year’s programs and staffing. You generous spirits have so far pledged a little over $450,000- making us 2/3rds of the way towards funding our visionary operating budget. This is amazing!
The pledge drive team is so hoping we can hear from each and every one of you- 100% participation- even if it is to let them know you cannot provide a financial contribution at this time.
As we continue to watch the gas prices rise, we are all aware of how challenging it is right now to pay our own bills, let alone give as generously as we would wish to our congregation and other organizations doing the work of our values in the world. Financial hardship should never be a hindrance to making FUUN your spiritual home. In fact, I find it is exactly these times in which I have needed community most in my life, and so it is essential that we continue to be able to keep FUUN the vibrant, safe, and nourishing center of our spiritual lives.
As I mentioned last Sunday, we will celebrate the end of our pledge drive as a community this Sunday after worship with a catered taco lunch, hosted by your board of trustees. I so hope you come, enjoy a wonderful worship service, make your pledge if you have not already, and dig into a delicious meal with your friends at FUUN. Thank you for all you do and all you give.
If I haven’t told you lately- I love being your minister.
Yours in the Faith,
Rev. Charlotte
