An article, by Alex Pena and Emily Cochrane, in the NYT on May 27 th , highlights the important work that we are doing in Nashville to support immigrant families. The article points to the arrests by ICE, in partnership with the state highway patrol, focusing on the roads where many in our Latino community live.
Donations are needed to provide financial assistance to impacted families. Every penny will go directly to families: https://remixtn.betterworld.org/campaigns/nashville-unidos-fund
Financial support is needed for nonprofit organizations offering emergency assistance to immigrants in our region during times of crisis. https://cfmt.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=4069
FUUN has participated so strongly that we have now been asked to focus on purchasing and packing cleaning supplies, which will be assembled at our facility before going to the warehouse. This is the list of supplies needed:
Trash bags
sponges
laundry pods
dish pods
dish detergent
pine sol, small containers (you can buy 6 small containers on Amazon)
bleach tablets (each tablet makes 1 gallon of bleach)
brown grocery bags
brown sandwich bags
Items may be left in the Susan B Anthony room. Any help you can give will continue to be accepted with gratitude from our immigrant neighbors!
There are many ways to get involved in our community response. If you are interested, please join FUUN's Immigrant Justice team. Email Jack Willey for more info.
Thank you for your generosity.
