Message from the Developmental Lead Minister

Sept. 22, 2020

“Take from life its coals, not its ashes.” -Laurel Sheridan

These are tough times, friends. Yet, here we are making it through somehow. I’m wondering how it is with your spirt and what is sustaining you right now. Sifting through the ashes of what once was but is no more (at least for now), what burning embers still glow, what passions are still alive?

What have you discovered about yourself on this hard journey?

Maybe the difference between loneliness and solitude? Or the distance between your limitations and what you are actually capable of? Interests that once laid dormant and have now reappeared? Qualities of being called into service — patience, humility, courage? Reevaluating commitments and relationships, honoring what is nourishing and life-giving — renegotiating and renewing covenants as needed?

Or maybe — just maybe — you have discovered how strong and brave and resilient you are. That you are alive, breathing, and reading this is proof that this is so. Take these coals. Let them warm you and sustain you.

However hard your journey may be, know that the FUUN community is holding you, loving you, here for you.

Yours in shared ministry,
Rev. Diane
