Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 26th! There are three major events that day we want to encourage FUUN to participate in. The traditional march down Jefferson Street begins at Jefferson Street Missionary Baptist Church at 2708 Jefferson Street. The march begins at 9 am but come early for parking. The march ends at Tennessee State University, 3500 John Merritt Blvd., where the annual Convocation is held from 10-12 with inspirational speakers.
Another place you should definitely visit, if you haven't already, is the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM), which will be free on MLK Day. It is located at 510 Broadway and is open from 10-5. It features an engaging interactive history of African American music, as well as a new section on Jon Batiste.
