Dear Ones,
I am so excited to begin my time with you as your new lead minister at FUUN starting next week! It has been a few months since I’ve seen you all but I have felt held in care by this beloved community all summer long as we have prepared for our move. Speaking of the move... let me give you an update.
My family and I will be physically in Nashville on Saturday, August 2nd and hope to join you for service the very next day. (An extra special thank you to Steve and Emily for hosting my family and I for a few nights before we close on our house.) Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on familiarizing myself with each aspect of FUUN, building relationships with my local colleagues, learning to navigate around our new home in Lebanon, and paying special attention to my children as they begin their new schools. My first official sermon as your new minister will be on September 7th.
The world seems especially challenging right now and I have been paying careful attention, along with the rest of the nation, to what is happening in FUUNs very own backyard. It is obvious that we are called to live our values by doing some deep and powerful work in our city and beyond. It is in moments like these that I am grateful to be serving a congregation so committed to living their values out loud in the world. I look forward to being at your side soon as you do.
